“Thieves at home” is a socio-political satire movie involving the character of Bruno (Manolo Ozuna), a father and a university professor, whose main goal in life is to put forward his family honestly.
Sandra, her eldest daughter, is about to graduate from high school and she and her father harbor the hope of obtaining a fellowship at a prestigious private university.
Days later the university informed him they have suspended scholarship programs.
Determined to give a better education to his daughter, and with the help of his fellow friend Biembo (Johanny Sosa), he took a second job as a driver of a transport company stock.
In his first night of work, he and two other men were used as a decoy by Octavio (Pericles Mejía) high executive of the company to conduct a self-theft, but the cleverness of them and the expertise of Bruno in front of the steering wheel helps them escape with the money…
This is the fourth movie of Dominican director Angel Muñiz after Nueva Yol(1995), Nueva Yol 3:Bajo la nueva ley(1997) and Perico Ripiao(2003) all of them have a combination of comedy and drama, and reflect in a real way many of the problems of the modern Dominican Republic.
