Amores perros (2000) is the first movie of Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu.
The film won awards Ariel eleven of the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, including best film, best director, best actor and best actor table. BAFT also received the award from the British Academy of Film and Television, as “best film not in English language” and the criticism prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
The movie was also nominated for an Oscar at the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in Hollywood as the “best film not in English language.”
