2001: A Space Odyssey

2001: Space Odyssey and 2001: A Space Odyssey is one of the most important and popular films of the genre of science fiction and film in general. Was screened for the first time in 1968 in the United States. Was produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Its advanced special effects made it an Oscar winner in that category. The soundtrack includes music by Richard Strauss (the introduction of Thus Spake Zarathustra), and son Johann Strauss György Ligeti accompanying images of space. Alex North composed a great piece of music for the film, Stanley Kubrick, but not included in this and, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the film, came out of the hands of Jerry Goldsmith, becoming a music legend.

The usual interpretation (which is also what is in the novel), tells of an advanced extraterrestrial civilization that some 4 million years the Earth has gone through an issue and not advanced intelligent life discovered in some species such as primates that have the potential to develop intelligence, although natural selection could not secure it.
