Mike O’Donnell(Mathew Perry, Zac Efron), at 1989 was a best basketball player, was in point of have a place on the college, a scholarship, but the great day he knew that his girlfriend Scarlett(Leslie Mann) was pregnant and abandon basketball to make a family, having just seventeen years old.
Twenty years later Mike is divorcing and is still regreting that abandon his brilliant career as basketball player… but destiny’s turn makes him see which is his really destiny when he will have seventeen again and know which is his mission at the world.
With his friend’s Ned(Tyler Steelman) help, he discover that he has 17 again to help his kids: Maggie(Michelle Trachtenberg) who has a psico boyfriend and Alex(Sterling Knight) who is the loser of the school. Also he will tries to regain his wife’s love.
