When Anna (Naomi Watts) were on duty, at the hospital… was born a girl whose mother died when she were borning. She, the mother, left a diary wrote in russian, she just had fourteen.
Anna, moved by that situation, and trying to save the baby, goes to Trans-Siberian, a russian restaurant, where she thought that will may translate the diary, and know some baby’s family, like that she doesn’t have to give her in adoption.
When she goes to the restaurant met Seymon(), its owner, who looks like a good person but is a boss of russian mafia and killed many people.
